Family-Friendly routes? Let's Roll.
Southwest siders face all sorts of barriers to cycling in our neighborhoods, from streets that end abruptly at factories or freight lines to a lack of bike- and pedestrian-friendly street design. But riding in our communities is possible, and we're hosting monthly community bike rides to prove it. We're planning family-friendly routes that stick to the side streets and only cross major streets like Archer at lights or stop signs. Join us for our next ride on Saturday, June 5 at Vittum Park, and check out our previous routes below.
SWC's Bike Advocacy Lead, Dixon Galvez-Searle, maps each route ahead of the monthly ride. It's posted to our social media the day prior to the ride, for easy reference.
The routes are family-friendly and safe for all to participate.
